Excellence Award for Brown & Gammons Employee Brown & Gammons Ltd Workshop Manager, Mike Penny was recently awarded second place in the CBQC/Aon Awards for Individual Excellence. The Classic British Quality Charter (CBQC) was founded in 1999 to act as a standard bearer of high quality workmanship and service. To qualify for membership companies are required to pass a rigorous initial inspection process to demonstrate that they satisfy the highest quality standards and are re-inspected regularly to ensure that standard is maintained. The Aon award is for individuals who have shown the best demonstration of quality awareness and actions. Mike Penny, who has worked for the Baldock based MG & MG Rover Specialists Brown & Gammons for over 25 years, was delighted to pick up his second place reward and a cheque for £350. He summed it up: "I've worked on cars all my life and I truly enjoy my work. There is a real sense of satisfaction in making beautiful pieces of machinery come back to life and perform to their highest ability - just like the designers and engineers who originally built them wanted. To get a reward for just doing your job is a real bonus." Brown & Gammons Managing Director, Ron Gammons added: "Mike has been with us almost since we first started in 1977 and as we've grown and moved from classic MGs to the latest cars from MG Rover, he has shown exceptional dedication and has embraced all the additional training with his usual calm, methodical and exacting manner. "Two years ago Brown & Gammons became an MG Rover Approved Repairer which means that our staff are fully MG Rover trained technicians. We were naturally sadden at the news of the closure of the MG Rover factory at Longbridge but would like to reassure customers both old and new that we are still open for business and can service and repair all models of MG and Rover and have a large stock of parts and accessories available."
