This distributor is a fully electronic ignition unit, replacing the mechanical advance timing system with advanced electronic control. It features 16 selectable pre-programmed advance curves, allowing you to choose the most suitable setting and ensuring accurate ignition timing throughout the engine's operating range. Modern fuel formulations have changed significantly over the years, and the distributor's programming has been specifically designed to accommodate these changes, helping to optimise performance and drivability. Please note that this distributor is supplied with a cap designed for push-in type plug leads. If your vehicle is currently fitted with the older screw-in type leads, you will also need to purchase a new set of plug leads and a compatible ignition coil. This distributor provides improved spark control, works exceptionally well with modern fuels, and offers better throttle response, smoother running, and enhanced engine pick-up.If your car is fitted with the cotter pin type distributor clamp, you will need to fit a spacer when installing this distributor.
