Front suspension
Notes: There were a few minor changes in the front suspension components that should be noted when identifying the actual parts you require.
A: At 1500 chassis no. 54246 the stub axle & steering arm were changed, the steering arm taper increased in size and the fising nut went from 1/2" UNF to 5/8inch UNF. The stub and steering arm assemblies were interchangeable as a unit.
B: At 1500 chassis no.66573 the spring pan was changed to the type with a hole for the anti-roll bar link, the front wishbone arms were not changed
C: At 1500 chassis no. 15151 the coil spring was change from 409 lb/in rate to a stiffer 480 lbs/in rate. The ride height remained the same.
D: At 1600 chassis no. 69504 (disc wheels) & 70275 (wire wheels) the method of attaching the brake disc to the front hub changed from studs splined into the hub + nuts to hex head bolts + nuts. This meant a change in the hubs to accept the bolts
E: At 1622 chassis no 102589 metal dust cover plates were fitted to the front brake discs.
